Congressional Black Caucus Conference Sessions
Higher Education Funding in Current Economic Climate

Fixing Our Healthcare System from a Black Woman's Perspective
This session identified the current health issues facing Black women across the country: reproductive justice, access to affordable contraception, diabetes, HIV, among many others.
Single Women, Unmarried Men: What Has Happened to Marriage in the Black Community?
This session was an attempt to foster a productive dialogue between Black men and women around preserving the institution marriage our communities. The panel was sponsored by Representative Eleanor Holmes Norton (DC) and featured Dr. Audrey Chapman, Audrey Chapman Show and Dr. Shane Perrault, African American Marriage Consulting.

Women Politics Media was invited by the Missouri Legislative Black Caucus Foundation to facilitate a media training for their young professionals track at their annual conference in Kansas City, Missouri on July 10, 2009. The young professionals learned how to write an effective op-ed, present themselves and their policy perspectives on radio and television interviews and had an opportunity to shoot professional head shots.
Elizabeth Birks and Rep. Leonard Jonas Hughes volunteered to be "Media Make-Over" candidates whose "Personalized Media Packages" were showcased during the training session.

Women Politics Media was invited by the Missouri Legislative Black Caucus Foundation to conduct a media training for the young professionals track at their annual confernece in Kansas City, Missouri on July 10, 2009. Women Politics Media conducted "Media Make-Overs" on Elizabeth Birks and Rep. Leonard Jonas Hughes. Each "Personalized Media Package" consisted of an op-ed, a 2-3 television segment of them speaking on that same topic and a professional head shot.
